Hi, I have run a confirmatory factor analysis of 12 items into three correlated factors. I was curious whether a higher-order factor with these three factors would represent a better solution, but results were just the same! How could I then argue for a higher order strucuture as representing a better solution? Thank you, |

The models are not statistically distinguishable so you can't argue using statistics. Theory would be your only guide. |
