Can you suggest a way to handle an indicator in CFA that is nonlinear? For example, suppose f1 can be defined by x1-x3. However, only very low and very high scores on x3 indicate the construct. Would squaring x3 work, e.g. "f1 BY x1-x3 x3sq"? |

Make it simple by defining a binary indicator u=1 when x3 is high or low. |
