I have a two-level model in which 2 between level variables and their interaction influence a categorical outcome (there are also a number of within predictors but no random slopes). I would like to produce a plot of predicted scores to show graphically how the interaction works. Is this possible? the PLOT function only seems to allow plots of sample statistics and I can't see how to run out predicted scores (that I could then plot in another package). thanks for any advice, Patrick |

You can use the DEFINE command to compute predicted scores and then plot them using the PLOT command. |

Dear Linda Could you give me some more detail about how to use the define command to obtain predicted scores from a 2 level regression. I have read the user manual and define seems to be limited to transforming existing variables. I can't see any mention of predicted scores in the define section. Thanks, Patrick |

You can also create new variables in DEFINE, for example, ypred = .5 + .4*x1 + .2*x2; where .5 is the intercept and .4 and .2 are regression slopes. |

thanks, I understand what you mean now. the problem is that one of the variables in the interaction is latent and the outcome is categorical. Is there any procedure to run out a predicted score as part of the model estimation? bw, Patrick |

I can't think of any way to do this. |
