Hello i order to to achieve linear regression coefficients from a predictor, would it be appropriate to model a factor for an observed categorical variable - even if there is only one observed categorical variable? The syntax I have in mind looks like this: USEVARIABLES ARE x u1; CATEGORICAL IS u1; MODEL: F by u1; F ON x; |

I would not do that. There is no need - you already have a linear regression with the continuous latent response variable u1* as the DV. This is explained our new book. |
