Indirect effects > total effects |

I'm running a mediation model and the the direct effect between the DV and IV is negative but the total indirect effect is positive. So, the total effect between the DV and IV is smaller than the total indirect effect. However, in a model that only includes the DVs and IVs but no mediators, the direct effects are positive. Is it a problem that the direction of the direct effects changed when mediators were included? What does it mean when indirect effects are larger than the total effects, and how do I report that? Thanks! |

This is not a problem. Just report it. |
